TKO Dock Doors, Sussex, WI., are now the only Sectional Knockout Doors approved for high wind load environments, providing facilities in hurricane-susceptible environments with a safe and durable solution for loading dock doors. Building on proven technology that enabled TKO doors to survive the impact of Hurricane Katrina years ago, the new TKO Wind Load Door design now meets Florida’s stringent building code. The design was tested to withstand pressures of +57 and -67.5 pounds per square foot, enabling it to remain intact through straight winds and hurricanes. The end result was receipt of Florida Building Code Approval #FL13014. Highlights of this model include a polycarbonate interior skin and a reinforced Impact-A-Track that runs the full height of the door. The bottom 2 panels of the TKO Wind Load Door are knockout-capable, protecting the door from internal damage due to forklifts or other machinery. Prior to a high-wind event, the slide locks located on the panels can be engaged to secure the door, providing reinforcement against high winds and debris. In addition to these special features, the TKO doors include a standard insulated foam core, heavy-duty retractable plungers and tight perimeter seals, creating a high-quality dock door that is suitable for any internal or external environment.
