The new 128,000 square feet (11,891 m2) Computer Science Building is part of the Meditech campus on the waterfront in Fall River, Mass. Meditech is a leading software vendor in the healthcare informatics industry. The architects at Payette Associates, Boston, found an intriguing opportunity to create a design that expressed a new direction for Fall River while recalling the early 1900s when the town was a major textile center. The Woburn, Mass.-based RHEINZINK Preweathered Blue-Gray rainscreen panels interface with a ceramic terracotta rainscreen system. The panels were fabricated by Pohl Inc. of America, West Valley City, Utah. The general contractor was Ford Construction, Norwell, Mass., and the installer was Tower Glass, Woburn.
