Metal Building Used for Corporate Hangar

Marathon Flight Services recently opened its new corporate hangar in 2007. The $1.1 million, 16,600-square-foot (1,542-m2) aircraft storage hangar can accommodate large corporate aircraft up to a Gulfstream G500 airplane.

Columbus, Miss.-based Ceco Buildings Systems provided the building with a standing-seam roof, which utilizes a 130-foot by 27 1/2-foot (40-m by 8-m) clear standard rolling door system by Well Bilt Industries, Williston, Fla. The hangar door consists of eight 16 1/2-foot by 27 1/2-foot (5-m by 8-m) leaves, a bi-parting telescoping top guide system and a bottom A.S.C.E. rail.

The building also utilizes 24-gauge, R-Panel metal siding in beige. Ocean Gate General Contractors, Stuart, Fla., was the general contractor on the project and LPA Group, West Palm Beach, Fla., was the architect.
