ATAS International Inc., Allentown, Pa., has announced the winners of its annual Project of the Year awards. The awards were created to recognize individuals who further the advancement of metal in construction. The 2007 ATAS Project of the Year Awards were open to any project completed in 2007 using systems manufactured by ATAS. Independent judges decided the winners in the residential and commercial categories. • Commercial division winner: New York State Thruway Rest Stop building in Chittenango, N.Y. The slate-gray Dutch Seam panels were distributed by Bradco Supply, Syracuse, N.Y., and installed by Henderson-Johnson, also of Syracuse. The second place winner was the American Metal Supply building, Lenexa, Kan. The third place winner was Father’s House, a church located in Chili, N.Y. Honorable mentions include the U.S. Geological Survey Building in Catonsville, Md.; Jet Blue Terminal at JFK International Airport in New York; Michael Waltrip’s Raceworld USA, Lake Norman, N.C.; a McDonald’s restaurant in Buffalo, N.Y.; and a CVS Pharmacy in Chester, Va. • Residential division winner: a private residence in Covington, Ky. The mission-red Scan Roof tiles were distributed by Roofi ng Supply Group of Louisville, Ky., and installed by Estate Systems, also of Louisville. The architect for the project was Batson and Associates, Covington. The second place winner was the Chillberg residence in Palm Bay, Fla. The third place winner was the La Barre residence in West Suffield, Conn.
